Less than a week before moving from Houston, I had a call from Brianna’s mom inquiring about portraits. She had been referred by someone and wanted me to take her daughter’s photos. Immediately I explained I was moving “soon” and didn’t know if I would be able to do them. As soon as she dropped the line about wanting photos with her harp, I was intrigued and agreed to work them in before I left. ; ) We met two days later at Rice University for the shoot, enjoying a rather warm and windy September day in Houston (mid to upper 90s). I will admit I do not miss the hot and sticky days in Houston!
Brianna is a lovely, talented young woman, with an amazing grace and sweetness. Although I had a lot on my plate, I had a wonderful time shooting her photos and it was the perfect final job for me in Houston!

It’s that time of year! I love fall, the Autumn colors, the tastes, smells, and Thanksgiving just around the corner. What better way to celebrate than to have pumpkin pie?! I guess I kicked it off a bit early this year. Maybe I’ll have room for my turkey, potatoes and stuffing this way.
Janice was in Salt Lake City last week from Houston and asked if I w
ould be willing to shoot some photos of her pumpkin pie recipe. If you recall, we did a photo shoot earlier this year and had a fantastic time. I was more than happy to help her out. I enjoyed tapping into my creativity to create some images she could use on her food blog. Plus, I was the beneficiary of one very delicious pumpkin pie!!! To get the recipe, go to The Kitchen Twist.

Our August travels led us through the majestic mountains of Colorado, just outside Denver. Madeline was born the end of July, and we photographed her just past her 2 week mark. She came early and was still so small! Since then we hear she has fattened up nicely. ; ) We quickly discovered she didn’t love being on her stomach and would do everything in her power to get out of that position. It was nice to capture so many photos with her eyes open. Welcome to the world, Miss M!!!

The monkey was VERY cooperative. Decided to play with the lighting while baby was being fed.

It was a beautiful, relaxed day for Ann and Caleb’s wedding in July. (At least for me!) After their “First Look” photo shoot, we headed to the church for the main affair. The marriage ceremony was performed at the Harvest Bible Church in Cypress, TX, and the reception followed. It was an intimate evening for family and close friends. I enjoyed the details they carried throughout the reception. Wine bottles with burned down candles and glowing lights draped across the room set the mood for the event. A DJ kept it alive all evening and the guests danced their hearts out–just what I like to see! : ) Madly waving glowsticks from everyone in attendance sent them off to begin their new life together!

Between planned summer vacations, trips, visiting family and friends, and an UNplanned move to another state–I am unfashionably late posting these photos. Not to mention my computer was packed away for some time and I’m finally up-and-running once again! : )
Ann and Caleb are one of the sweetest couples and they were so easy to work with. They tied the knot in July in Houston. When I met with them in January they had decided they wanted to do a “First Look” and see each other before the ceremony and have photos taken. It worked out beautifully and was nice and relaxing before all the wedding commotion got underway. We were able to get photos of them getting ready, together, and with wedding party–before heading off to the church.
Also, I can’t resist throwing in the fact that Ann has been my tallest bride to date. Love it!!! Tall women rock! : ) Caleb is a lucky man.
Hope China is treating you both well and you’re enjoying your new adventures together!!!

It is official! Conor and I are no longer Texan transplants! While we enjoyed our time in Houston, and especially all the brides and grooms we were able to work with, we are happy to be back in the West! Our move is complete and we’ve settled into our new home, after a bit of deliberation (not on our end). The Autumn colors are in their full glory and we have missed that and the mountains dearly while away. Conor’s job moved us to Salt Lake City and we’re happy to be close to the outdoors, enjoy the seasons, and near family. We also have an impending arrival–a baby girl! We’re excited for the new changes in our lives and wanted to thank all of you for your outstanding support and friendship. If you’re ever in the area, please let us know!
To answer the ever-popular question, “Are you going to still do your photography business in Utah?” Quite simply, YES!!! : ) But, I will be taking a break with the baby coming, the holidays, etc. Please inquire if you have any questions or an upcoming wedding. I absolutely LOVE weddings–and shooting individual portraits, seniors, etc. I look forward to working them into my schedule this coming year and being back in Utah!
Fall is in the air with the first day of October already here! Where does the time go?! We were thrilled to be featured for the month of October on Wedding LDS for Charlotte and Tony’s wedding. You can follow the article and wedding day/planning day details from the link below. Such a beautiful day and I enjoyed looking back at the photos and sharing in their joyous occasion. Conor and I were grateful to be a part of their wedding and developing a lifelong friendship!

Bonjour! Conor and I recently returned from a trip to Europe. Amazing. Loved, Loved, Loved it!!! We were gone 20 days and traveled around France, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands. It was my first time to travel to Europe and I just drank it all in–such a feast for the eyes!!! I fell in love with all the towns along the way. A church is the center, often times on the hill, and the town builds up around it. Everything was green and beautiful and with the mix of old buildings and architecture, I found it stunning. I can still hear the church bells ringing.
Here is one my favorite photos from the trip I wanted to share. Very moody and caught my eye as we walked back to our hotel after dinner. Taken at dusk, while raining, in Mont Blanc-Chamonix, France.

A warm welcome to baby Ty! He was born the end of June and we took the photos at his home in Logan. Such a cutie and did pretty well for the photo shoot at just 5 days old! He did flip me off in a few photos while he was awake. I suppose it’s proof of how all people truly feel, but only a baby knows he can get away with expressing it! We went for a vintage look on some of these set-ups. Had several others we intended to do–but were quite exhausted after the Coke bottle scene! Next time I’ll need to cool down with a popsicle and get some sugar in my system to recharge! : )

Yesenia and Rian held a ring ceremony and reception to celebrate their marriage at Ashton Gardens. Check out Rian’s killer socks! He and the guys all flaunted their bright knee socks and it cracked me up! Everything was decorated beautifully and they had a lively crowd lining the dance floor all evening. It kept me entertained and on my toes all night–just how I like it!!!
